Today internet marketing is a part of the gem marketing panorama. Not everyone sells on a website or eBay, but we at least communicate with some clients by email. We don't all have a website and conern ourselves with SEO, nor do we all use PPC (pay by click) advertising. Almost every gem dealer has email. So let us try and help each other with our expereinces, so we can all improve.
Be it a personal letter to one client or a mailing to your entire list; be it because the list was so well chosen or the choice of the words/syntax fit in well with the mind set of your clientle, let us know what has worked for you.

We´ve recently used social media marketing (Linkedin and Facbook) and have had some success. Yes it is more than posting offers which doesn´t work that well. We offer some kind of information - source ativity, marketing advice- and try to drive proffessional buyers to our site (gembuying.com) where we get closer to them. It makes up part of our sales funnel.
There are more tips and I hope some of you can provide them or at least ask questions. Hoping to help one another.
